My Flag
My Dad and I had just about finished up a great day. Flirting with the
waitress at the lunch counter, eating hot dogs, reading comic books. At
ten years old, I was hanging out with my hero. In my small hometown,
there was a monument to the men and women of our county and city who
were in the armed forces. I was interested in WWII, and we found my
father's name. I asked what the names with the star beside them meant.
He pushed my finger to one of the names and said-"You know that great
day we just had? These boys bought it for us, and they paid for our day
in full." My point in sharing this story, is there is only one flag I'm
concerned about. It's this one. My flag...
